FADO ON THE RIVER, THE FADO OUT OF THE FOUR WALLS

Another great innovation in 2019, Fado on the River.

Conceived as a twinned offer, two companies (Lisboat – operator of circuits in the river Tagus – and Fado & Food Group – manages the legacy of historic fado houses in Lisbon), which took the same inspiration, Lisbon, to give to know this city in a different way.

Fado on the River wants to show the city of Lisbon from a privileged setting, the river Tagus, and through the urban song born in it, the Fado. The regular production of these events allows to reassume the responsibility as official agents that present, explain and release the Fado to the visitors of the city of Lisbon, national and foreign.

We have chosen a time during which the transition of light between the day and the night, that invites to the recollection, to listen to the fado, but outside the one that is its space par excellence to listen this musical gender, the fado houses.

Composing the initial team of artists, the fado singers Nadine, Filipa Carvalho and Cláudia Picado; Portuguese guitar, Sérgio Costa, Nelson Aleixo fado viola.
