TO THE SOUTH OF CAIRO, DISCOVERY OF A NEW PYRAMID
Ruins of a pyramid built 3,700 years ago were discovered in Egypt. So far, among the structures found in the royal necropolis (cemetery of ancient civilizations) in Dahshur, south of Cairo, are a corridor and a block with ten lines of hieroglyphs.
The discovered parts of the pyramid are in good condition, and more excavations will be carried out to reveal more parts (of the structure).
Dahshur is where Pharaoh Seneferu of the 4th Dynasty built the first pyramid of smooth walls of ancient Egypt, the 104-meter-high Red Pyramid, about 4,600 years ago.
