Reservations
Fado begins at 20:15. The kitchen opens at 19:00. The tables beneath the vault are few, and evenings fill up well in advance.
The kitchen opens. The couvert and starters arrive unhurried, before the performance — it’s the best time to be seated.
First fado set. The lights dim, the room falls silent, the kitchen pauses while the singing lasts. No microphones — just the voice and the stone.
The night stretches on in sets alternating with the courses — and somewhere in between, a guitarrada — until closing.

It’s recommended. The vaulted room is small for the demand and evenings often sell out. Online booking is instant and free of charge, for up to 10 people.
The kitchen opens at 19:00 and the first fado set begins at 20:15. To dine calmly before the performance, we recommend arriving between 19:00 and 20:00.
The Café Luso menu is €65 per person — couvert, starter, main course and dessert of your choice, with the fado performance included. Drinks are not included. There is no ticket: fado is part of the evening.

At Travessa da Queimada 10, in Bairro Alto, Lisbon — a few minutes’ walk from Chiado. The house occupies the old cellars of the Brito Freire Palace; you come down the stairs and you are inside 1927.
