She is Portuguese, so it is not surprising her appreciation for Fado. Her name is Alexandra Coutinho and lives in Portland, Oregon, United States of America.

She came to Lisbon to learn about the current reality of fado in Lisbon, she wanted a serious fado house, and chose this one, Café Luso.

Together with their american companion and a friendly couple, they had a precious fado night: a long dinner with Portuguese wine, fascinated by all the rituals and mystical things that define a fado house like this.

Another purpose was, notably, to spread Fado on Uncle Sam’s land. We know that, thanks to the opening of direct air routes, more and more Americans are visiting Lisbon.

One of the singers of the house, Catarina Rosa, as true hostess, welcomed her warmly and, knowing that Alexandra Coutinho also likes to sing, invited her to interpret some themes. Drpped her voice and make it happen.

It should be noted that it was the first time she performed accompanied by a Portuguese Guitar. Where she lives, they improvise with another instrument.
